Guatemala has the region's lowest level of obese people

With fewer than one in five overweight people, Guatemala is the Central American country with the lowest level of obesity, according to “The state of food security and nutrition in the world 2018”, of the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Costa Rica has leads the region in obesity, at 26 percent.

The global leader in obesity is Tivalu, where half the population is obese, while Timor-Leste at 3 percent has the lowest level.

The study tracks indicators, which include malnutrition and obesity (numbers in brackets indicate percentage of population with obesity in each nation).
