Guatemala in trade talks with Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago has started negotiations with Guatemala for a partial scope trade agreement, in the hope of widening economic opportunities beyond regional and traditional markets.

A Guatemalan trade delegation, headed by Sonya Lainfiesta, is in Trinidad for first-round negotiations that began yesterday, and which will continue today and tomorrow.

The Trinidad and Tobago delegation is headed by Ambassador Plenipotentiary with responsibility for Trade and Industry Mervyn Assam.
