Guatemala looking to bring in more cruise ships with huge growth for potential

Authorities and companies in Guatemala have formed the Guatemalan Tourism Institute whose goal it is to promote the cruise industry in the country.

The group feels there is a lot of potential to generate significant foreign exchange earnings and jobs.

The growth potential of the cruise ship heading is "huge," but to get this type of tourism, Guatemala must move forward on the challenges of infrastructure and the legislative, authorities and employers agreed.
