Friday, May 16, 2014
Over the next weeks, the first meeting to carry out feasibility studies will be held for a gas pipeline between Guatemala and Mexico.
"Guatemala should be ready by 2016, when Mexico begins to export natural gas," said Luis Ayala, hydrocarbons director at Guatemala's Energy Ministry.
The pipeline will be 600 kilometers long, from Guatemala's Escuintla region, to the Pacific port of Salina Cruz, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.
