Guatemala passenger train plans move forward

Guatemalan authorities approved six of a total of 26 firms for a new passenger train project.
The investment for the project is expected to reach up to $500 million, and will be partially financed by the Inter-American Development Bank.
The train is planned to circle the city of Guatemala, and plans also include building a four-lane highway parallel to the tracks.
