Guatemala plans safe zones for tourism
Guatemalan authorities announced their interest in creating safe tourist zones, similar to those in Honduras.
A committee from Guatemala tourism authority, Inguat, will travel to Honduras in order to learn more about that country's experience in creating safe zones, which aim at tackling crime at the most popular destinations.
Honduras first established a safe zone in the popular Roatán island, and plans to expand to other destination in the near future.
