Guatemala ready for tender of six oil exploration blocks
Monday, September 20, 2010
Almost a year later than planned, Guatemala’s Ministry of Mines and Energy is ready to prepare six out of 12 areas identified for oil exploration.
The delay in the process has been caused because the government was obliged to make changes in the exploration blocks because some of them infringed on areas of environmental protection.
The tender process for the six areas is due to be ready by January at the latest.
