Guatemala's coffee exports drop 17 percent

Guatemala's coffee exports dropped 17.3 percent in the first five months of the current harvest, which started in October last year.

Exports of the grain totalled 843,536 bags of 60 kilos each, compared with the 1.20 million from the same period in the previous season.

The previous season's sales reached $756 million, while the 2011-2012 harvest reached $987 million.
