Guatemala’s Colom calls for quick fix to trade tiff with Dominican Republic

Alvaro Colom, the Guatemala president, urged a quick solution to the dispute between Dominican Republic and Central America over the free trade agreement between both sides and the United States.

The Guatemalan leader met in Santo Domingo with President Leonel Fernández. The Central American countries filed a complaint against the Dominican Republic in the World Trade Organization, over tariffs levied on several products from that region.
