Guatemala’s Grupo Solid invests $18 million in new Escuintla plant to spur growth in regional markets for paint

Increasing demand for paint in the region has spurred Guatemala’s Grupo Solid into building a new production plant.

The new plant, known as Superbia, was officially opened in Excuintla. It will double the group’s production capacity. Investment was $18 million.

Grupo Solid has 95 percent of the Guatemalana market in paint, and 36 percent in the region. The aim is to reach 50 percent in the region.
