Guatemala says ministry inspection clears Del Monte plant of claims of salmonella

Guatemala’s ministry of Agriculture said its technical staff have cleared a Del Monte plant of any phyto-sanitary problem related to the presence of salmonella panama.

Staff from the Food and Drug Administration of the U.S.  also visited the plant.

The FDA suspected that the Guatemalan melon of Del Monte plant was contaminated with salmonella since last week where 12 cases of sick people in seven U.S. states were reported.
