Guatemala seeks International Monetary Fund $300 million standby

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Guatemala will tomorrow launch talks on a standby agreement with the International Monetary Fund that could reach $300 million.

Alfredo del Cid, the finance minister, said the details of the accord have yet to be ironed out, but the aim is to stabilize the country’s macroeconomic targets.

“We’re going to work on the plan and a mission will be coming in the early days of December,” he said.
