Guatemala solves slow ratification of Europe accord

Guatemala will ask for an extension of the Generalized System of Preferences, which ends this year.

The move is an attempt to maintain exports to Europe, as the country has yet to ratify the association accord.

"The initiative is a valid move that will help maintain the current trade benefits" said Foreign minister Enrique Lacs.
