Guatemala stirs markets with $550 million issue
The first placement of a 4.5 billion quetzals ($550 million) bond issue is stirring excitement in Guatemala’s financial sector.
Optimism is running high because of expectations on US government issues running at 2-3 percent, and about 5 or 6 percent on emerging markets.
Some analysts, however, may that it might to place the whole issue in quetzals or in a mix of quetzals and dollars.
