Guatemala suspends two free-zone companies for alleged violation of labor code

The threat of a US legal suit by the US government on alleged violation of the Cafta labor code persuaded Guatemala to suspend two free-zone companies.

The companies, SPD and Sae Hyun, were suspended while two other cases are under investigation. SPD and Sae Hyun are facing charges in Guatemalan courts. They have been suspended from all privileges granted to companies in the free zones.
