Guatemala to boost remittances investments
Monday, August 19, 2013
The Guatemalan Immigrant Coalition has presented a plan to the country's government and banks to boost investments through remittances.
The project, called "3 for 1", proposes that for every dollar a Guatemalan immigrant sends towards a family business, the State and banks give $1 each with favourable interest rates.
"The funds will help towards projects aimed at boosting small businesses," said Coalition representative Marcos Yax.
