Guatemala to sell insurance in corner shops

Guatemala’s Monetary Board authorized the use of marketing companies for life, medical and accident insurance policies.

Industry sources say that the measure provides for the sale of policies in neighborhood stores, pharmacies and similar outlets.

The companies that sell the policies have to have at least a year of experience in the Guatemalan market.
