Guatemala to work on cultural tourism

Guatemalan tourism authorities expect some 1.9 million visitors in the cultural tourism sector this year.

The authority set the goal despite the lackluster performance in the sector during last year's new year celebrations in the country's Mayan ruins.

In November, Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and Belize will organize the world's first Mayan ball game cup, as part of plans to attract visitors.
