Guatemalan emigrants boost economy by $4 billion

Despite the political problems faced by Guatemala, the nation’s emigrants have boosted the economy and their families back home.

Remittances to Guatemala amounted to $4 billion this year through August, a 9.9 percent increase on the same period lf last year.
