Guatemalan exports of cosmetics within the region surge to $250 million

Guatemalan exports to Central America of oil, cosmetics, perfumes, and soaps grew 15 percent during 2011.

The Guatemalan exports authority created a committee for cosmetics in order to improve competition and technology for smaller companies.

Guatemalan cosmetics sales to Central America reached $250 million in 2011, as well as creating 5,000 jobs and more than 25,000 indirect jobs.
