Guatemalan peasants stage protest against mining

A group of peasants on Monday staged a peaceful protest in Guatemala City against mining operations in Guatemala, a leader of the movement reported.

The march, which departed from the Obelisk and moved downtown, was called by the so-called "Dawn Movement against Mining," Jose Cubur, with the Peasant Unity Committee told Efe.
