Guatemalan president Alvaro Colom is to visit Japan next week to boost cooperation

The Japanese government announced that the president of Guatemala, Álvaro Colom, will hold an official visit to Toky from October 20 to 23.

Japan, one of the leading donors of aid with Guatemala, is involved in several technical and financial projects.

According to official data, Japan granted $673 million in aid to Guatemala, especially following the 1996 Peace Accords to end Guatemala’s civil war.
