Guatemalans plan to buy Mexican sugar refineries

Mexico has launched privatization of nine refineries that account for a fifth of all the sugar processed in the country.
Companies from Guatemala and the United States have shown particular interest in acquiring the privatized plants.
The sales are to be carried out by auction before the next Mexican government takes office in December 1.
