Hernández offers a response to the Honduras exodus

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Juan Orlando Hernández, the president of Honduras, has announced a plan that aims to halt a repeat of the caravan of mass emigration that began on October 13 with the aim of arriving in the United States.

The plan will begin with $25 million that is to be spent in conjunction with churches, the private sector, local government officials "and anyone else who puts Honduras as their top priority."

Hernández made no mention of Donald Trump's threat to halt US aid to Honduras and Guatemala because they have alleged to have failed to halt the exodus.
