High prices for gasoline in Guatemala give boost to smuggling from Mexico

Some 200,000 gallons a day of gasoline and diesel is being smuggled from Mexico to Guatemala.
The trade is being boosted by the high prices in Guatemala, say industry representatives.
“There’s a big price differential between the two countries, and that’s driving the contraband,” said a trade leader.
