The Honduran assembly in-bond plants, known as maquiladoras, aim to earn $4.3 billion in exports this year, an increase of $300 million compared with 2017, according to Jesús Canahuati, a former president of the sector’s association.
Honduras is one of the world’s leaving seven exporters of garments to the United States, Canahuati said.
“We’re seeing the arrival of some major investments that are currently being planned and these will make the industry even stronger,” he added.
