Honduran coffee sales slump 62 percent year on year

Honduran coffee sales dropped 62 percent year-on-year during the first three months of the 2012-2013 harvest.

From October to December, coffee sales totaled $83 million, compared to $135 million from the same period last year, said the manager of the Honduran Coffee Institute, Ihcafé, Victor Hugo Molina.

In terms of volume, Honduras exported 540,000 bags of 46 kilos each, compared to the 593,000 bags last year.
