Honduran manufacturing industry in the red

The manufacturing industry of Honduras continues to fall short of its growth goals.

The non-metallic mineral sector dropped almost 20 percent up to March this year, due to less demand for construction materials, while production of chemicals and plastic dropped 8 percent.

However, the garment industry grew 3 percent, while car part manufacturing grew 14 percent, both due to an increased demand from the United States.
