Honduran mining investments stalled until after elections
A new mining law in Honduras has failed to boost investments in the sector.
Investors from China, the UK, Peru, Brazil, Canada and United States who are interested in the Honduran mining sector will have to wait until after November's general elections, the country's mining association said.
"We are looking at billions of dollars in investments, depending on the type of metal and area," said Santo Gabino Carvajal, director of the Honduran industrial sector association.
