Honduras-based Grupo Terra’s electricity division is going to build a thermoelectric plant in northern Peru.
The initial cost of the 200-megawatt plant is $128 million. Terra won the contract in consortium with Spanish company Cobra.
The deal will grow Terra’s horizons in other markets. It’s most recent foreign project was the 95-megawatt Xacbal hydroelectric project in Guatemala.
