Honduran textile industry expects $120 million investment

Monday, December 27, 2010

Executives of the textile and garment industries in Honduras expect $120 million investment in the sector next year, including 25,000 new jobs.

By the end of this year, the industry’s exports are likely to have increased by 20 percent to $2.8 billion, all of it to the United States and mostly of socks, underwear and tee-shirts.

The industry is looking to further expansion when the association agreement with the European Union comes into force in 2012.
