Honduran tilapia sells $50 million a year to US, says Aquafinca Saint Peter Fish

Honduras has received $50 million in foreign exchange from the sale of 16.5 million pounds of fresh tilapia fillets to the United States during 2010.

As a result, it has become the main exporter of this fish to the US market.

Orlando Delgado, general manager of the company Aquafinca Saint Peter Fish, which is dedicated to this activity, ensured that both production and exports of tilapia resulted in approximately 1,500 direct and 6,000 indirect jobs.
