Monday, November 5, 2018

Tourism in Honduras has recovered from the political tensions of last year as a result of the re-election of President Juan Orlando Hernández of which the international community disapproved.

The tourism Chamber, Canaturh, says that this year it is about to record earnings of $900 million this year, an increase of some $100 million from last year.

However, Colombian airline Avianca cancelled its domestic routes within Honduras late last month. it had flights between Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and the tourist island of Roatán. The airline will continue to operate its international routes that link San Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
