Honduras paid a bill for $491 million in this year’s first quarter.
Fuel imports are a major burden on the nation’s economy. Last year Honduras paid $1.43 billion, some 27 percent more than in 2009.
This year’s first quarter bill represented a 9.8 percent increase on the same period of last year.
