Honduras: Health Minister suspended
Friday, June 7, 2013
President Porfirio Lobo last week suspended Health Minister Roxana Araujo.
The suspension, effective for 30 days, is due to the crisis facing a health system, which has failed to provide adequate treatment for patients, and which in addition lacks medicines and other supplies.
While considering Aurojo’s fate, the government has appointed a commission, which will temporarily manage the ministry, and which will report to the Executive, with recommendations on how to deal with the issues.
