Honduras is world's eighth African palm oil maker

Honduras ranks third largest African palm oil producer in Latin America, behind Ecuador and Colombia.

The country also ranks at number eight worldwide, Indonesia being the first and Malaysia the second.

In 2012, Honduras produced 387,000 metric tons of the oil, and authorities expect the number to rise this year to 400,000.
