Honduras launches new port to receive cruise ships

Honduras will have a new cruise port, called Banana Port, ready to start operating in December 2014.

Banana Port, on the Caribbean coast, is valued at $20 million and is already 80 percent complete.

The site is 50,000 square metres, and will have shopping facilities, tours to nature reserves and private flights to the Mayan ruins of Copan.
