Honduras mining

With metal prices at an all-time high, Honduras is seeking mining investment. The country has deposits of gold, silver, zinc, lead and other metals and minerals.
“We need to take advantage of investor interest”, said Santos Gabino Carvajal, of the National Metal Mining Association in an announcement last week.
Two mines currently operate in Honduras – Aura Minerals’ San Andres gold project, and Breakwater Resources' zinc-lead mine. Honduras’ mining sector had exports last year valued at $180 million.
