Honduras. Period.

Honduras is ready to recover, creating opportunities in various sectors, especially textiles and tourism. Porfirio Lobo, elected President in November 2009, took office last month in an atmosphere of renewed optimism - the country's national soccer team even qualified for this year's World Cup.

Cuts in aid and investment severely damaged the Honduran economy, following the turmoil surrounding last June's ouster of former chief executive Manuel Zelaya. The return of stable conditions will create opportunities for textile production, taking advantage of preferred access to the United States market, under the terms of the Central American Free Trade Agreement.

Properties for tourism and recreation on the country's Caribbean coast are in many cases available at lower prices than a year earlier, as a result of Honduras' economic crisis during the past seven months.
