Honduras sees 10 percent more pork production

Monday, August 19, 2013

Honduran pig farmers are expecting to end the year with 10 percent more pork production compared to 2012.

The growth in production has brought down the country's imports of the meat by 15 percent in the first half of the year.

But producers are concerned about the poor environment for the sector to grow, with issues such as weak laws, poor investment climate and crime.
