Hospira adds to Costa Rican growth in medical sector

Growing numbers of multinationals have established manufacturing plans for medical instruments in Costa Rica.
 
Baxter was the first to arrive in the country, back in 1987. Now there are 32 plants with a total workforce of 10,000.
 
The most recent investment comes from Hospira, which arrived in Costa Rica in 1999 and now has opened a second building in the country with a $21 million investment.
