HSBC forecasts increase in Panamanian trade of 9 percent a year over five years

The HSBC group has forecast that Panama's trade will grow by 9 percent a year over the coming five years.

Panama's trade grew by 23 percent last year to $8 billion, according to the National Banking System.

HSBC backs its forecast by saying that once trade will be boosted by the widening of the Canal and an increase in commercial relations with countries such as Venezuela.
