Iberia launches San Salvador route in boost for tourism in Central America

Iberia, the Spanish airline, has announced a new route that is expected to provide a boost for the tourism industry in Central America.

From 2 October, Iberia will be the first European airline to operate flights between Madrid and San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador.

Approximately 40,000 passengers are expected to travel between Madrid and El Salvador in the first year of the new route, which will operate alongside Iberia's flights from Europe to Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama.
