IDB backs $103 million geothermal plan in Nicaragua

The Inter-American Development Bank has announced a funding package for geothermal exploration and improvements to the power transmission system in Nicaragua under a $103.4 million project with financing from the the bank.
The project will support site investigation to help determine the technical viability of exploiting the geothermal potential of the Cosigüina field in northwestern Nicaragua.
