IMF questions ‘sustainability’ of Costa Rica

An IMF team, led by Lorenzo Figliuoli, visited Costa Rica from December 12-15 to discuss recent economic development and the outlook for the country. At the end of the mission, Figliuoli issued a statement that said the economy is growing robustly.
However he added that efforts to curb spending “are insufficient to place the fiscal position on a sustainable path”.
