Imports of vehicles to Guatemala surge by 32 percent through April of this year
Monday, June 13, 2011
Guatemalan automobile agencies imported 7,000 new vehicles in the first four months of the year, compared with 5,300 in the same month of last year.
High gasoline prices have failed to discourage consumers. Meanwhile the agencies have encouraged sales with a barrage of promotions and low interest rates.
Industry sources say the trend is likely to last for several months.
