Friday, February 25, 2011
Hundreds of workers marched through Panama City while indigenous people blocked highways in the west of the country in protests against new mining laws.
The government has taken no notice of its citizens by promoting the new laws, said Genaro López, one of the trade union leaders.
Meanwhile, leaders of the ngobe bugle ethnic minority staged roadblocks on the Panamerican Highway.
