Inflation rate to exceed 8 percent this year in Honduras. Increases in oil prices boost prices of basket of basic consumer goods

The central bank of Honduras revealed that the consumer price index from January through August grew by 5.2 percent, up from 4 percent over the same period of last year.
For the year as a whole, inflation is expected to reach 8 to 8.5 percent.
Increases in world oil prices have made a severe impact on the production costs of the goods and services that form the basket of basic consumer goods in Honduras.
