Inmet Mining's big copper project wins approval of environmental permit in Panama
Wednesday, January 4, 2012
Canada's Inmet Mining announced that the Panamanian government approved the environmental and social impact assessment for the Cobre Panama copper mine and its related infrastructure, including a coal-fired power plant.
The approval triggers a 30-day window for Korea Panama Mining to buy 20 per cent of the project from Inmet for about $155 million.
Analysts are confident it will do so.
