Inmet Mining’s Panama unit plans to invest $25 million in public works
Minera Panamá, a unit of Canada’s Inmet Mining, reported that this year it will invest $25 million in public works and environmental projects.
The announcement came as the president of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, was visiting the company’s research and development camps.
Minera Panamá’s copper concession was granted in 1997. Recently it has been opposed by environmental and indigenous groups.
